Medical Benefits of Magic Mushrooms
Researchers find psilocybin improved the anxiety and depression of terminal cancer patients for up to six months. The study is considered a first step in restoring the hallucinogen's respectability.
The psychedelic drug psilocybin, the active ingredient in "magic mushrooms," can improve mood and reduce anxiety and depression in terminal cancer patients, Los Angeles researchers reported Monday.
The research was a pilot study involving only 12 patients, but it is viewed as a first step in restoring the drug to respectability.

Clip I recorded from a UK TV Programme way back in 1989 called Mushroom Magic.All about Psilocybin Mushrooms & Fly Agaric.Strange thing,Micheal Jordan was on the TV yesterday.Looking a bit older,but still obviously keen on Mushrooms.He has written several good books.There's a book called Mushroom Magic which is a good introduction to Mushroom of all types.I bought one of Ebay the other week,to replace my dated aging edition.Worth a good read.I think there was a video of all 6 episodes produced,but have never been able to track it down,just got these clips that I taped about 21 years ago.What he said on TV yesterday was spot on.Mushrooms,of all types used to grow in readily throghout our lands,but sadly,due to climate change,it has changed.Remember in the late 80's and early 90's,Mushrooms were found everywhere,Liberties where found in their 1000's,now your lucky if you pick 50-100 in the same places.My favorites,part of the Boletus Family,and the Shaggy Incaps have declined greatly in their numbers since about 93-95.It is so sad, as these Mushrooms used to be of such a common place,but their numbers are decreasing so rapidly year after year.Our Summers are so dry,and out Autumns are turning into Indian Summers,and before you know it,it's Winter again:(

One of the best parts of mushroom hunting is taking mushroom pictures. I've been identifying wild mushrooms for around a decade now, and my collection of mushroom pictures continues to grow with every mushroom hunting season. At first my mushroom pictures were pretty poor quality. Back then I was just taking mushroom pictures to help me try to casually identify in my wild mushroom field guides at home, or maybe to show off to a friend. Who knew that so many years later, I would have developed specific skill-set taking high quality mushroom pictures in the wild?
